I am been a strong supporter of Melody Anne and her writing. I totally love the Anderson family and if you were to snag my Kindle you will see ALL books by this author. With that being said when Shadow was releasee last week I did not hesitate to purchase.This book has so many story line happening at once..Joseph and his family, Avery and Carl,plus extensive flashbacks of Carl back in his military day.Melody Anne has moved from her comfort zone of writing and teamed up with John Henley for this new series.This first book for me was dragging and a bit disjointed. I found myself skimming through a lot of Joseph's parts since it was toooo repetative. I think the author is still trying to merge her world of Andersons and that of military.Hopefully the writing flows in the upcoming books.Other than that the book was pretty good. The storylines ok. I cried at the begining for Joseph and the strong bond with his wife. And it was pore raising Jospeh turning from the carefree matchmaker we have grown to love over the years to this man bent on revenge following the attack on his wife.It was great reading the updates on the other family members as well. My gosh! Jasmine is now 18 already. Hearing about her brought back memories of Lucas and Amy the first Andersons book. I loved this.So that's my honest review and looking forward to the rest in this series. I love Andersons and this book is another great addition to it.Loved reading about whole family in addition to new characters in series.Avery, is a great lawyer, but she defends, bad people and after one winning case, she almost loose her live, she decides to stop working.Carl, is discharged SEAL, who is asked to work in new team, which will work hard to get bad people down.I did laugh, I did cry.Thank you Melody Anne for a great surprise release.
